'One-off' rowers

Union welcomes visiting rowers from out of town or out of the country, as well as those wanting to "have a go" before joining the club. URC also offers a six-week learn-to-row programme for new rowers wanting more than a single row.

'One-off' rowers: Please sign the URC Waiver form before your row and email to urcclubcaptain@gmail.com.

Please also pay the $25 ‘one-off’ fee prior to your row to Union Rowing Club / Account 03 0802 0096251 00. You must include your name in the reference field. Ideally, we would like our hospitality for free, but since the quakes, our insurance rates have increased dramatically, and we are no longer able to provide our hospitality for free.

Safety

Safety is everyone's individual responsibility.

All members are expected to be familiar with the information included in our Safety at URC AND to read and follow all safety notices in our boat shed.

All members must be able to swim 50 metres in light clothing and tread water for 5 minutes.

Boat racking for private boats:

Occasionally, Union can offer a boat rack to each individual member who owns their own boat as part of their membership and will continue to do so as long as space allows. The annual racking fee (to be paid in addition to the membership fee) is currently $100.

Additional members’ boats [i.e.: members with two or more boats] will only be considered if space allows after one boat per member has been allocated. You must seek the permission of the club committee before racking a private boat in the shed
